A sustained commitment to serving student veterans has placed Moreno Valley College among the top-ranked community colleges for military-connected students in the 2025 Military Times “Best for Vets” rankings.

Ruben Aguilar, a United States Army veteran, former Riverside Community College District Alumnus of the Year, and current Norco College faculty member, served as the keynote speaker for Moreno Valley College’s ninth annual Veterans Scholarship Ceremony.

A new chapter in emergency medical training began this fall as the inaugural EMS 95 class concluded at Moreno Valley College’s Ben Clark Training Center, establishing the first local pathway for Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) training in Riverside County.

Moreno Valley College student Lauryn Chin has been selected by California Volunteers to serve as a College Corps Fellow Ambassador, representing both the college and the state in a program that provides students with hands-on service opportunities across California.

The California College Corps program has been established as a permanent initiative in the state’s 2025-26 budget. Community spirit and cultural pride were on full display at the 11th Annual Dolores Huerta and César E. Chávez Scholarship Ceremony. The College honored long-time student advocate Peggie S. Negrete with the 2025 Community Legacy Award, as well as exceptional students with cash scholarships.
