Janecek Selected as the College’s Classified Employee of the Year
April 1, 2024Terry Janecek, a 27-year employee at Moreno Valley College, has been selected as the College’s Classified Employee of the Year. Janecek has served as an employee at the Riverside Community College District since 1994, with most of his career spent at Moreno Valley.
McGowan Hired as VP of Academic Affairs
January 15, 2024Joumana McGowan, Ed.D., has been hired as the vice president of Academic Affairs at Moreno Valley College. McGowan comes to Moreno Valley College with over 25 years of experience in higher education, having previously served as an administrator at both Citrus College and Mt. San Antonio College.
Emily Craig Selected as Alumnus of the Year
December 11, 2023The Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees has selected Emily Craig as the District’s 2023 Alumnus of the Year. Craig graduated from the Moreno Valley College paramedic program, Class 12. Since 1959, the Riverside Community College District has selected an alum for the award.
College Dean Selected as a Fellow for the HACU's Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo
September 22, 2023Sandra Martínez, dean of Enrollment and Engagement, has been selected by the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities as one of 50 fellows who will be part of the fifth cohort of its Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo.
College Awards Professorship to Biology Instructor
April 24, 2023Felipe Galicia, a Moreno Valley College biology instructor, was awarded the rank of Full Professor at the April 18 Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees meeting. Galicia was one of six faculty members selected, the other five being from Riverside City College.
