Moreno Valley College hosted its annual Planning and Data Workshop this spring, centering on the theme "Planning for Student Engagement: Integrated Strategic Plan 2026–29." The workshop brought together more than 50 attendees, including administrators, classified professionals, faculty, students, and the interim college president.

This year’s workshop focused on reviewing and updating the college’s strategic direction with a focus on vertical and horizontal integration across state, district, and college-level planning. The event served as a critical step in the college’s annual planning cycle, setting institutional priorities for the upcoming academic year.

“The Institutional Effectiveness and Governance Committee was excited to host the annual college-wide planning and data workshop,” said Jake Kevari, dean of Institutional Effectiveness. “The workshop provided an opportunity to come together and collaborate on setting the college's 2026–2029 strategic goals, which are aimed at ensuring alignment and driving student engagement across all levels of our institution.”

Students participated by sharing their perspectives on what fosters a sense of belonging and student success. Two major planning efforts were highlighted during the event: the Integrated Strategic Plan (ISP) 2026–29, which outlines short-term focus areas and performance indicators aligned with the college's vision, and the Student Equity Plan, which details strategic actions and leadership responsibilities to achieve equity goals.

Feedback for both plans was gathered through shared governance committees and the workshop itself. The Institutional Effectiveness and Governance Committee reviewed this feedback on April 9, and advanced the Integrated Strategic Plan to the College Council and Academic Senate for review this May.

The ISP 2026–29 builds on the foundation of the previous 2022–25 cycle and connects directly to MVC’s Comprehensive Master Plan 2019–30, which integrates both the Education and Facilities Plans. Together, these efforts emphasize the college’s commitment to student engagement, equity, and mission-driven planning.
