MVC's BFSA thrives through the participation of its members. By getting involved, you help expand mentorship, professional development, scholarships, campus programs, and initiatives that support student success.

Established in 2026, Moreno Valley College's BFSA builds on the longstanding tradition of Black Faculty and Staff Associations in higher education that advocate for equity, foster inclusion, and advance educational excellence. The MVC chapter was created to strengthen connections among faculty, staff, administrators, and allies; support employees of African descent; and promote African and African American cultural awareness and engagement across campus. We work in partnership with our RCCD sister colleges, Norco College and Riverside City College.

While each campus has its own unique history and initiatives, the three RCCD Black Faculty and Staff Associations collaborate to strengthen our collective impact. We work together through shared programming, leadership, and professional engagement to create opportunities that support and benefit RCCD employees and students.

As a network of support, advocacy, and engagement, the MVC BFSA strengthens student success, encourages academic achievement, promotes cultural understanding, and cultivates a sense of belonging across the Moreno Valley College community. Through mentorship, programming, partnerships, leadership, allyship, and service, the association creates opportunities that support student achievement, professional growth, and institutional excellence.

BFSA remains committed to advancing opportunities that empower students and employees while contributing to the continued growth and success of MVC.

The Moreno Valley College Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) supports and advocates for Black students, faculty, classified and confidential professionals, and administrators while fostering belonging, equity, inclusion, and excellence across our campus.

Through advocacy, mentorship, professional development, collaboration, and community engagement, BFSA works to:

• Support student success.
• Strengthen the recruitment, retention, and advancement of Black students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Promote cultural awareness and equity-minded practices.
• Build partnerships across the college and surrounding community.
• Serve as a resource and advocate for issues affecting the Black campus community.

Together, these efforts help create an inclusive campus where students and employees can thrive.
