Moreno Valley College (MVC) marked a day of dual celebration on Wednesday, April 30, with the grand reopening of its renovated Student Services Building and the unveiling of its first public sculpture, "You Belong, at MVC."

Moreno Valley College celebrated its seventh annual Día de los Niños y Día de los Libros (Day of the Child/Day of the Book) with a joyful and collaborative service-learning event hosted by the Puente Program and the Early Childhood Education Center.

LaTonya Parker, Ed.D., professor of counseling services at Moreno Valley College, has been elected president of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges for the 2025–26 academic year. Parker brings nearly 30 years of higher education experience.

During a statewide webinar on April 23, marking National Apprenticeship Day, Rosalinda Rivas, apprenticeship director at Moreno Valley College, urged employers to partner with the college to strengthen workforce pathways. “Help us, help you so we can help all of California,” Rivas said.

MVC has welcomed a new team member to its School of Public Safety — and he’s got four legs, a tail, and a nose for compassion. Eros will be based at the Ben Clark Training Center and is the first comfort K-9 assigned to a School of Public Safety nationwide.

Moreno Valley College hosted its annual Planning and Data Workshop this spring. The event served as a critical step in the college’s annual planning cycle, setting institutional priorities for the upcoming academic year and reviewing the College's 2026–2029 strategic goals.
