Riverside Community College District has launched its new Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS) network, expanding access to electric vehicle charging at Moreno Valley College, Norco College, Riverside City College and District facilities.

The charging stations will be fully operational beginning Sept. 28, and are available to electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid vehicle users with a valid RCCD parking permit. Stalls are first-come, first-served, and vehicles must have an active charging session while parked in designated EVCS spaces. Vehicles parked without an active session are subject to citation.

The EVCS network operates on the EVGateway platform. Drivers use the EVGateway app, available on the App Store and Google Play, to start and pay for charging sessions. At launch, charging is $0.32 per kilowatt-hour, with a two-hour grace period after charging is complete, followed by a $5 per hour idle fee. Current rates and fees are always displayed in the EVGateway app. EVCS enforcement is active 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"This rollout represents an important step in advancing the District's Sustainability and Climate Action Plan (S-CAP) goals, expanding clean mobility options and supporting our growing EV user community," said Hussain Agah, Associate Vice Chancellor of Facilities Planning & Development.
