About

An award-winning professional, Ruiz has a background in security, emergency management and as a safety administrator, and 30-plus years in managing integrated enterprise security and safety systems.

Prior to being named College Safety and Emergency Planning Coordinator at Moreno Valley College, Ruiz has worked for the city of San Diego, TaylorMade Golf and most recently for Amazon. At Amazon, he served in the role of Environmental Health & Safety specialist and site safety manager of a fulfillment center and delivery stations, coordinating and implementing areas of the Global Safety Program. He regularly conducted safety inspection audits to assure compliance with Amazon and OSHA standards.

As the Safety, Security & Environmental Health supervisor with TaylorMade Golf Company, Ruiz assisted in implementing, developing, and overseeing the enterprise-wide security and safety programs as well as asset protection, guard-force management, and crisis and emergency response. He also administered the safety and health programs for the company, while overseeing the Environmental Waste Safety Program.

For 15 years, Ruiz served the city of San Diego as its Emergency Management coordinator, overseeing the Emergency Operation Center and Security Operations Center which included crisis management, operation of the two centers for emergency operations, and safety and security risk assessments for 225 city facilities.
